It's Stacked This Year.
This year's edition of the supercross features a LOADED girls field. A large number of previous top 10 finishers have returned this year to see if they can claim that number one spot. This list includes:
- Maitha Al Radai of Merril West - 4th in 2024
- Sydney Logsdon of Hilmar - 3rd in 2024
- Yasmin Mansouri of Elk Grove - 2nd in 2022
- Sophie Benham of Hughson - 2nd in 2024
- Gianna Mansouri of Elk Grove - 2023 Champion
- Addison Shaw of Pleasant Grove - 2024
Champion - Jymena Nguyen-Marquez of Grace Davis - 9th in 2023
The list above, does NOT include the prohibitive favorite for this year's race, Eleanor Hampton of Merced. Hampton is one of the highest rated athletes to ever toe the line at Supercross. So far this year she has run 17:23 for 3 miles to place 4th at Woodbridge and 17:25 for 5k to rate as the #1 runner in the Central California Conference. Last year, on the track, Hampton posted an impressive 11:03 to place second in the Sac Joaquin Section D3 Championship. The MEET RECORD of 15:17, set by Mahalia Quintana in 2021 is certainly in Jeopardy. This year, we could see multiple girls surpass the time set by the 2021 Sac Joaquin Section Champion.

| Hampton will threaten the CR this year |
Hampton will be pushed by 2023 champion, Gianna Mansouri of Elk Grove and 2024 Champion Addison Shaw of Pleasant Gove as well as Jymena Nguyen Marquez of Grace Davis and Sophie Benham of Hughson. Benham is the current #1 runner in the Trans Valley League and Nguyen has been the #1 runner in the Western Athletic Conference all year. On the track, both have sub 5:30 credentials with Nguyen - Marquez posting a time of 5:17 last year to place second in the Sac Joaqin Section D4 Championship.
Team Battle
| The Mansouri sisters of Elk Grove Lead this year's team favorite |
The team battle looks like it is shaping up to be a hotly contested race between two teams from Elk Grove. Pleasant Grove has been the top team in the Delta League all season and fetures 3 girls who could potentially place in the top 10: Addison Shaw, Samantha Brink, and Ava Urias. Meanwhile, their cross town rivals, Elk Grove recently won the D4 race at the Clovis Invitational and are led by Gianna and Yasmin Mansouri, both of whom have placed in the top 2 at Supercross. Elk Grove did not race at Supercross last year, but will be a favorite to take home the Team Champions Backpacks
Hughson may be looking to sneak in and upset their larger rivals. The Huskies have been dealt some major injury blows this year. An ankle roll at varsity camp resulted in a fracture and another top 5 runner was diagnosed with a congenital heart issue. The Huskies still managed to place 2nd at last week's Clovis Invitational in Division 6. If Hughson can close the gap between Benham up front and their #5 girl, they could factor into the overall scoring.
