Prior to the race, Aiden Singh of Pleasant Grove had stated that his goal was to break the Frosh Soph Course record that he had set the year before.  Once the race started, Singh took off after that goal.  Not only did Singh break his old Frosh Soph course record by 9 seconds, he also ran a time that would have placed him 4th in the Varsity Race.

Behind Singh, the most competitive frosh soph race in Supercross history unfolded.  By the end, a full 7 runers would move onto the list of the top 15 all time frosh soph performances at Supercross. Early in the race, Ben Scott of Tokay and Andrew Jackson of Pleasant Grove were waging a fierce battle for second place, well behind the pace of Singh.  However, moving up steadily through the field, Jaydon Spires of Tioga was running a great race of his own.  Spires moved from 10th to 5th by the mid point of the race.  Coming out of the arboretum, Spires had caught Jackson and Scott.  He went on to place a very impressive second place.

The FS girls race also provided us with a course record.  Jasmine Hernandez of Los Banos simply went out and smashed the old mark, held by Julia Vezaldenos of East Union (2015).  Hernandez's time of 16:29 beat the old mark by a full 25 seconds!

Early leader, Julia Martinez of Madera was able to hold off a hard charging Kayden Legan of Oakdale for second.  Martinez's time was actually only 2 seconds slower than the old course record.  Legan of Oakdale is a strong runner herself with a track PR of 5:40 for the mile.  She moved to #4 on the Supercross's all time list of performances.

Evelyn Zambrano of Madera and Mykell Bouwhuis placed 4th and 5th on the day, both moving onto the all time top 15 performance list.
