2022 16thennial Hughson Supercross Invitational

 October 15th, 2022

Come on over to Hughson to close out your regular season with the most fun allowable at a cross country meet.

Unlike ANY Course You'll Run!

Our totally unique course offers a stadium start and finish, a cirtuit through the Hughson Community Arboretum and Garden, Twice traverses our famous or infamous Mud Pit and even features a stretch through one of our campus's hallways, so to paraphrase John Mayer, you literally CAN run through the halls of our high school.  Link to Course Map on gmap-pedometer

Awards

  • Team AwardsThe TOP 2 teams in each of the scored  races will take home one of Hughson Supercross's custom trophies.
  • Sweepstakes Award:  We have traditionally given a trophy to the school that brings the most well rounded program and scores the best in: Varsity Girls, Varsity Boys, Frosh Soph Girls, Frosh Soph Boys.  We have so far not awarded a sweepstakes trophy based on Junior varsity results, as participation numbers have not allowed.  If numbers continue to increase, we will include Junior varsity scores in the sweepstakes division. Stay tuned for 2022!
  • Individual Awards The top 20 runners in each varsity race will take home medals. The top 15 runners in the JV and Frosh Soph races will also receive medals. Medals will be handed out in the chute
  • Premes This is the coaches's favorite. The first runner through the mud pit in each race will receive some sort of special prize. Premes are dependant on what we get donated each year.
  • Random Finisher Awards One of the things that we really like about our meet is that anyone may take home some sort of prize. At the beginning of each race, the starter will draw a number from a hat (the number will be larger than 15, because the first 15 finishers already get medals). Whichever number the starter draws, will be awarded to the corresponding place finisher in that race. We've had some wonderful surprise awards handed out in this way over our 9 years of existence.
  • Ice cream to all finshers....just sayin' it's happened in the past.  I'll see what I can get donated.
I'd like to share a quote from one of our fellow coaches.

"Joel,

Thanks for a great meet. On a more personal note: by providence, you gave a prize hat to my autistic kid in the chute. He came up to me after the meet asking why someone gave him a hat. I told him that he won it as a prize for his hard work. This will most likely be the only thing he wins…ever. You should have seen his face. What a beautiful, perfect moment.

Thank you so much.

 JoAnn Davison,
 Turlock High."
